Reheating southern red rice & sausage
What’s wonderful about southern red rice and sausage is how easy it is to make and how you can customize it! Don’t like sausage? Leave it out! You can substitute it with bacon, your favorite vegetarian alternative, or just leave it entirely meatless. When I reheat this, I like to put a smidgen of water on it and heat it up on the stove so the rice doesn’t dry out.
It’s also delicious heated up in the oven or air fryer the next day! Add some cheese, toss on a fried egg, and it’s out of this world delicious!
When to serve red rice & sausage
You can easily double, triple or quadruple this recipe to feed a crowd as well! I can’t tell you how often I ate this growing up at family gatherings, but I know it always went over so well. It’s a wonderful lunch or dinner, but makes a fabulous side dish for brunch. You can have this as is, or add it to a tasty Easter spread, BBQ, potluck & more. There really isn’t a bad time to enjoy southern red rice & sausage.
