Cleaning Tips for Moms
Do your most time consuming or daunting chore first
What is the worst chore for you to do? Is it cleaning the toilets? Putting away dishes? Or perhaps it’s finally making your bed after a week of leaving it unmade. Whatever the most daunting chore on your list is, do it first! If you feel like all of your chores are overwhelming, start with the most time-consuming one. This will help you not only get done the hard stuff each day but make sure you are doing it when you’re most motivated.
Make a cleaning routine
Instead of just cleaning random things in your home, make a cleaning routine for yourself. Dedicate one room or one small area of your home each day and keep at it! You’ll find that little love and care in your home each day can help you maintain a clean house with ease. You can keep one printed out on your fridge or leave yourself a reminder on your phone.
Keep cleaning supplies in each room
This trick will help you keep all the rooms in your house clean! Keep a cleaning caddy in each room armed with the cleaning products you’ll need to clean each room. This way, when you finally muster up the courage to clean that bathroom, you don’t have to wander the house for 20 minutes looking for the toilet bowl cleaner. Make sure to keep cleaning rags and paper towels there too.
Declutter your home
Want to know the real secret to a clean home? One that isn’t stuffed to the brim! Decluttering your home will help your home a much cleaner appearance even when you haven’t dusted in weeks. Sometimes we think our home is dirty when it just needs to be decluttered and reorganized in reality. Regular decluttering will help you save time while cleaning.
Pick up as you go
As you move from room to room and make messes throughout the home, start picking up as you go. Don’t leave a room without something in hand, and put stuff away when you’re done with it. Even bringing the dishes to the sink instead of leaving them out can help when it comes time to do the dishes later. By picking up as you go, you won’t have to tidy before you clean a space.
