As moms, we do a lot of shopping. Whether it’s to find a box of cookies for the after soccer game snack, poster board for a school project, ballet flats for your daughter’s upcoming recital, or even birthday gifts, we are always buying something. While I have fallen victim to paying rack rate for something I could’ve gotten for less, here are my best mom hacks for getting the best deals!
Mom Hacks for getting the best deals
No matter what you need to purchase, don’t ever pay for shipping! Sites such as Amazon and Target, along with many other websites, have free shipping for EVERYONE. Usually, you have to meet a specific price threshold before getting free shipping, so be smart! Whenever you need something but don’t quite meet the price threshold, add it to your cart and wait. When you finally have enough to purchase, check out!
It doesn’t matter if you’re buying furniture or groceries; there are so many ways to ensure you are getting the best possible price on your purchase, no matter what retailer you are shopping from.
First, use a cashback site such as Rakuten to ensure that you are getting cashback on your purchases. They also have coupon codes that you can use at checkout! Next, download and install the Honey browser extension. This handy extension will search the internet looking for coupon codes to help you find the best deal! You can also do a Google Search or check out Retailmenot for coupon codes.
Just about every store has some form of loyalty program to help entice shoppers to continue shopping there. However, each one has its own set of perks and incentives to get you to shop at their store! Target RedCard members get free shipping and deals on every order; Prime members get free movies, shows, two-day shipping, music, and more. There are grocery store loyalty programs and stamp card programs that offer special deals for customers who sign up for their loyalty card and continue to shop there. Before you make a purchase, check which store has the best options and most perks for the item you’re looking to buy. I sign up for just about every rewards program out there and have a dedicated email for just those kinds of money saving programs!
Many stores offer price matching, including their own online store! If you have to purchase multiple items, consider going to a store that offers price matching so you can get everything in one place! Target and Walmart stores will offer price matching, while online shops such as Amazon will only price match TVs. If you go to a store that offers price matching, you can always be sure you’re paying for the lowest price even if that store doesn’t have that price.
You don’t have to have a gift closet or even spend hours price shopping to find the best deal! With these hacks for getting the best deals, you’ll be able to find the best deal on anything you purchase without having to worry about spending a ton of time searching for it!
