What to serve

Since this has a protein already, you can easily skip a meat dish! We usually add steamed broccoli or snow peas when we don’t want to add another protein. When we do, I usually make teriyaki chicken or hibachi style shrimp. My kids love this dish on their own, but they do love shrimp sauce (or yum yum sauce) with it on occasion as well. No matter what you serve with this easy to make fried rice, it’s sure to be a delicious hit!

Notes

** This recipe is easy to whip up using either freshly made rice or leftover rice. When I know I’ll be making fried rice, I make 10+ cups of rice the night before & save half. You can also freeze your cooked rice & use that as well!
If you don’t like soy sauce, you can experiment with other soy sauce alternatives. I haven’t tried them so I can’t personally recommend any specific brands or products.
Since this includes eggs, it’s a great protein packed dish. You can easily add your favorite cooked vegetables to the rice while it’s cooking or top it once it’s done.
Add anywhere from 4-8 eggs, depending on how much protein you’d like in the dish. We prefer to use 6-8, but 4 works in a pinch!
