Supplies for a Halloween Paper Plate Wreath

You’ll need a handful of supplies to create this cute Halloween kid’s crafts. But the good news is that you can get everything you need at the dollar store! This cute craft cost around $3 to make, and you’re sure to have supplies leftover to create another fun Halloween craft when you’re finished.

To make your own witch wreath, you’ll need:

Black paper plates: Use the paper plates to create the form for your Halloween wreath.
Black ribbon: Let your kids practice their lacing skills by using ribbon to decorate your paper plate wreath for Halloween.
Witch stickers: Add a few witch stickers to your paper plate wreath to add some Halloween fun to your craft.
Scissors: To turn your paper plates in to wreaths, you’ll need some scissors to cut the center out of the plate.
Hole punch: Make it easy for your kids to decorate their wreath with ribbon by punching holes around the border of the wreath.

Preparing Your Halloween Wreath

If you’ll be making this craft with young kids, you may need to do some prep work before your kids can get involved. To make this craft easier for preschoolers and young children, start by preparing your paper plates. First, use your scissors to cut out the center of the plate to create a wreath form. The easiest way to do this is to cut a slit in the center of the plate, then work your scissors around the center edge of the plate until you have cut out the center.

Next, you’ll need to punch some holes in the paper plate with a hole punch so your kids can lace their ribbon around the wreath. Leave around one inch from the edge before you start punching your holes to keep your kids from accidently ripping the plate as they lace. Punch holes around one inch apart all around the paper plate.

Once you have your paper plate ready for your kids, it’s time for them to have some fun! First, they can work on lacing the ribbon through the holes. They can weave the ribbon up and down through each hole or wrap the ribbon around the edge and work it through the holes that way. Either way, make sure they leave a little bit of extra ribbon on the end so they can tie a bow at the top when they’re finished lacing.

After the ribbon has been laced through the holes, your kids can start decorating their wreaths. Using stickers, decorate the edge of the wreath to add some Halloween spirit to their new creation.
