Substitutions or Variations for Cinnamon Roll Wreaths
There are a few things you can do with this recipe.
First off, you could make the cinnamon roll dough yourself. You could use your favorite cinnamon roll recipe and simply open up the spirals after cutting but personally, that is not something I want to do at 7am when the kids are asking for breakfast. I want something easy and I wanted to offer the same for you!
Second, you could add some extra butter and cinnamon sugar to the dough. After the wreaths are shaped, top with some melted butter and sprinkle on a mix of cinnamon and brown sugar for an even tastier treat.
Finally, you could decorate these wreaths. If you plan to serve them for the Christmas holiday, decorate the wreaths with colorful sprinkles for some “lights”. If you are making these for a different holiday then use specific holiday themed food-safe decorations to uplevel these cinnamon wreaths!
What to Serve with These Braided Cinnamon Roll Wreaths
These braided cinnamon roll wreaths are perfectly fine on their own but adding a side of eggs and fresh fruit would make this breakfast option perfectly balanced.
Important Notes for Making Cinnamon Roll Wreaths
Expect to get messy with this one. Carefully unroll the cinnamon roll spirals to avoid losing much of the cinnamon butter flavor and then carefully braid.
Also, pinch the ends together once shaped to be sure they do not come apart!
