If you are looking for cheap farmhouse decor inspiration or ideas, then you’ve come to the right place.! Decorating your home on a budget is much easier than you may think.

Today I’m gathering all my best tips for finding great inexpensive farmhouse decor. These tips will help you put together the perfect farmhouse-style home without spending thousands of dollars or hiring Joanna Gaines herself!

How to Find Cheap Farmhouse Decor You’ll Love

Sometimes the word “cheap” can bring to mind items of poor quality. I don’t love that connotation. However, “cheap” also simply means “frugal” or “inexpensive”, which I do love!

When you’re working with a tight budget, knowing how to find frugal farmhouse decor is a great skill. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come naturally to everyone. If you’re working on a tight budget, use these tips to find amazing cheap farmhouse decor you can’t live without!

Repurpose Something You Already Have

Reduce, reuse, and recycle, right? One of the cheapest ways to “find” (or create!) beautiful inexpensive farmhouse decor is to take something you already have and give it a facelift. Then that “old” item feels brand new!

If you are looking to save money and redecorate your home, try repurposing something that you already have at home! This could be something small like a vase or something as large as your coffee table.

The aspect I love the most about farmhouse decor is that it highlights simple, practical, and rustic items in a beautiful way. Use that to your advantage! The key to the farmhouse look could be as simple as a coat of paint or a little repurposing that perfect piece to make it look slightly less perfect.

Utilize Clearance Bins and Dollar Stores

If you don’t want to spend a fortune on crafting supplies to DIY your farmhouse decor, I encourage you to dig through dollar stores and clearance bins.

You likely won’t find furniture pieces this way, but this method is mainly meant for finding accent pieces. You can find signs and even crafting supplies that you can use to make your cheap farmhouse home decor on a budget!

I’ve discovered canvases from The Dollar Tree as well as amazing clearance farmhouse decor from Michael’s by just looking and being patient. Michael’s is always offering coupons, too. Definitely make sure to grab a few to help you stick to your budget!

A Little Paint Can Go a Long Way

If you find the perfect piece at a yard sale or flea market, but feel like it’s the wrong color, don’t completely disregard it!

You would be shocked to see the difference that changing even the paint color on the walls can make in the way a room looks. Do a little research and find some farmhouse paint shades that would fit with the farmhouse look you crave!

Sometimes repainting the living room or that old dresser is all you need to do the trick! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found the perfect piece and just needed a little bit of paint from Home Depot!

DON’T Shop Online

Usually, I am a huge fan of shopping online for supplies. But, if you’re really working within a tight budget, you aren’t going to find those quality pieces online for a bargain.

There are some accent pieces or custom design pieces that you can get from either Amazon or Etsy, but your best finds are going to be in a store. By the time you pay for shipping as well as and the cost of buying it new, you could have bought it and paid less for something comparable at Home Goods or Hobby Lobby!

However, that said, I know there are times when you just don’t have the time to go shopping around a store with the hope of finding that perfect piece. Sometimes it’s worth spending a little more money in exchange for saving time. In that case, check out Decor Steals. They have the best online deals on really cute (furniture and accent) pieces that I have found!

Borrow and Trade

If you are looking for a free option, this is the best way to go for cheap farmhouse decor! Find a friend who is also looking to update their home and swap items! You may be able to give a vase new life that they would have sent to Goodwill. Or maybe you can trade your old table for something new to you!

You don’t need to pay for a professional designer to give your home the farmhouse look you crave! Keep these cheap farmhouse decor tips handy, so you can decorate your own home on a tight budget. And you might even have some money leftover!
