Homemade Hot Chocolate Bomb Ingredients
To prepare your own hot chocolate bombs at home, you’ll need just four basic ingredients:
• Chocolate. You can use any type or flavor of chocolate you want to make hot chocolate bombs. For this Halloween recipe, I used dark chocolate to give the bombs a spooky look.
• Hot chocolate mix. Add even more chocolate flavor in your hot chocolate bombs with the help of some instant hot cocoa inside each bomb.
• Marshmallows. Mini marshmallows are what make hot chocolate bombs so fun. For these bombs, I added a Halloween touch with the help of orange marshmallows from a bag of fruit flavored mini marshmallows.
• Decorations. To create a Halloween look on the outside of my bombs, I used orange decorating chocolate and Halloween sprinkles to decorate them.
How to Make Halloween Hot Chocolate Bombs
These easy hot chocolate bombs can be made with just a few minutes of prep work! That means you can whip up a delicious sweet treat that’s also fun to drink without much time or effort at all.
To make your own Halloween hot chocolate bombs, just follow three simple steps:
1. Melt the chocolate.
Use your microwave to melt your chocolate chips, then spread the melted chocolate in your hot chocolate
molds. Set the hot chocolate molds aside and allow the chocolate to cool and harden.
2. Fill the bombs.
Fill half of your chocolate spheres with instant hot cocoa mix and mini
marshmallows. Then, place the other half of the spheres on top and seal the seam.
3. Decorate the hot chocolate bombs.
Add the finishing touch to your Halloween hot cocoa bombs with some decorations. Start by drizzling melted
orange chocolate over the top of each bomb, then add some
sprinkles to the top.
How to Serve Homemade Hot Chocolate Bombs
Once your decorations are set, it’s time to enjoy your hot chocolate bombs. This is where the fun really begins because you get to watch your hot chocolate bombs explode inside your mug!
Start by heating one cup of milk in the microwave until it’s steaming hot. Place your hot chocolate bomb in the bottom of the perfect hot cocoa mug. Then pour the hot milk over the top. As the hot milk melts the chocolate shell, the instant hot cocoa and mini marshmallows will explode to the top of your drink.
Once all the chocolate is melted, use a spoon to mix all the ingredients together in your cup. After that, all that’s left to do is enjoy your delicious hot chocolate!
