Invest in a good coffee maker with a timer

Instead of rushing around to get your coffee made in the morning, invest in a coffee maker with a programmable timer. This way, you can start your morning off with your coffee already done! And let’s be real, that smell alone is enough to get me out of bed!

Pick out everyone’s clothes for the week on Sunday night

Instead of having everyone run around each day trying to put together outfits, just have everyone lay out their clothes for the day on Sunday! This way, all your outfits are ready to go, and it becomes one less thing you have to worry or think about. This organizer is perfect for kids, but you could even use this yourself!

Make breakfast ahead of time

Make a huge batch of breakfast food for the week during the weekends so you can enjoy the leftovers all week long! You can easily scramble a bunch of eggs, cook up some bacon, and make pancakes to put in the freezer. Then just take them out and reheat the day of! Breakfast burritos, biscuits, and sandwiches can all be frozen and reheated layer!

Pack lunches the night before

This is true if you’re doing distance learning, working from home, or if everyone is leaving the house. Not having to stop in the middle of the day to prepare lunch will help you save time and avoid a messy kitchen. Plus you avoid the last minute “oh no! What do I make for lunch?!” drama.

Get everyone dressed after breakfast

I can’t tell you how many times someone ruined a shirt or outfit while eating breakfast! Save the drama and have everyone get dressed after they eat breakfast. This way, if they make a mess, it’s on their pajamas and not their outfit for the day.

Give your kids more responsibility

Mornings don’t need to be or should be a one-woman show. Everyone can help out to help make things run smoother! Your tweens or teenagers can heat up breakfast and help the little ones get dressed. Your spouse can help pack book bags and prepare lunches. You can even make a rotating list of who is responsible for what in the mornings. Whatever you decide to do, don’t take it all on yourself!

As you can see, a few simple steps can help make your mornings so much better! Hopefully, these easy mom hacks for a smooth morning have helped you make some changes to your am routine to make it run a lot a bit more seamless.
