Should you plan a staycation? While everyone is stuck in quarantine, and travel is out of the question, you may be thinking about rescheduling your vacation. While you can’t leave your city right now, there are plenty of ways you can vacation without ever leaving your house! If you are looking for a great way to vacation at home, a staycation can be a great option! If you’re still on edge, here is a guide to help you decide if you should plan a staycation for your family.

Are you on a tight budget?

If you have limited funds, then a staycation is a great option! Staycations can be cheap or even free if you have the willpower and mindset to do it! If you don’t have a lot of money in your vacation fund, a staycation can help you get by until you have the funds to take a real vacation.

Are you frazzled and in need of a vacation?

If you are feeling burnt out all the time or just in need of a day off, a staycation can help you get some much needed time off without having to worry about leaving the house! You can stay in a hotel in your city if you’d like, but you don’t have to take a vacation! There are limitless options for how you use that time, but a staycation can allow you the chance to relax and unwind.

Do you need a last-minute vacation?

Staycations are great last-minute options because you don’t need to plan to take one! Unlike waiting until the last minute to book a flight, deciding the day before to take a staycation won’t make it more expensive! You may not even need to plan at all beforehand!

Do you need to get out of your city or home?

If you genuinely need a break from your home, getting out in your city can provide you with some relief. Staying in a hotel instead of your home will still be less expensive than flying or driving somewhere, but you may spend as much time as it’s all said and done. If you need a break from your hometown, then a staycation won’t be the best option.

Do you need a break from your family?

If you need a little break away from the kids or your spouse for a bit, then taking a staycation won’t be the way to do that. Unless you can have them stay with another family member, staycations are best suited for your entire household. If one person doesn’t participate, it can cause chaos for everyone involved. It’s best to reserve staycations for a full household vacation instead of a one time or one person vacation. If a break from your family is what you’re after, a staycation won’t fix that.

Staycations aren’t a good fit for every family, but there are many benefits to taking one! If you’re short on cash or would like a chance to vacation for a while, staycations can help you get through this time until you take a real vacation away from home.
