Life can be stressful at times. Whether it’s helping the kids with schoolwork or just trying to keep your family afloat, mom life is stressful! If you are looking for an easy way to relax, you can’t go wrong with an at home spa day! Going to a day spa can not only be expensive but just isn’t in the cards for everyone, especially with social distancing & some states not opening back up yet. With these tips, you can create your own spa experience at home!
Spas are created to make you feel relaxed, and they spare no expense in the small details. First, start by dimming your lights, or having your spa area lit by candlelight. If you don’t want to use a candle with a scent, add some aromatherapy to the room using a diffuser and a calming blend such as lavender. Keep a pitcher of spa water handy by filling up a pitcher with ice-cold water and add lemon or fruit to the pitcher.
Do a deep conditioning hair mask treatment
Hair conditioning masks will likely take the longest, so start here first. You can always make your own DIY mask if you’d like, but there are a ton you can buy that are ready to go on a moment’s notice! This hair mask works great for damaged hair, but if you’re looking for a specific type of treatment, there are plenty of masks out there that will do the trick!
Exfoliate your skin, help fight breakouts, and more by choosing a face mask that is perfect for your skin! I love these fun character face masks to make my spa day experience more fun! These would also work great for teens if you want to have a mother-daughter spa day! I love using a great Essence and Moisturizer afterwards, like these from Beautycounter.
While you’re letting your masks do their work, it’s time to focus on your hands and feet. We use our hands and feet more than we realize, and it’s time they got proper treatment! First, start by exfoliating your hands and feet, this scrub works great for both! You can also get rid of calluses using this handy scrubber! If you want to take the time to give yourself a manicure and pedicure, knock yourself out!
Relax in a steamy tub or shower
After your masks have finished doing their job and your feet and hands are like new, it’s time to finish off your spa day with a steamy bath or shower. You can add some bath salts or a fun bath bomb to help moisturize your skin. If you prefer a shower or don’t have a tub, you can also use shower steamers! These work very similar to bath bombs and are an excellent alternative for people who need to shower instead of taking a bath!
As you can see, with the right products on hand, you can be ready for a spa day whenever you need to! These would work great as gifts for friends to make their own spa day too.
